The Russian Cultural Center in Beijing launched the stamp display about Russia
The Russian Cultural Center in Beijing has mounted the exhibition of a stamp collection, which is timed to coincide with the International Postage Stamp Day.
Various thematic events, which mark memorial dates and celebrations, have been regularly held at the Russian Cultural Center. This time guests of the center had a chance to discover a unique stamp collection, which highlights the multi-faceted, unique and original Russia.
Many visitors of the center had an opportunity to see exclusive stamps focused on Olympic sports, Russian paintings, historical people and key figures in culture, along with stamps which illustrate important achievements of the country, portray the beauty of landscapes, the unique architecture of Russian cities. The collection has been provided by famous Chinese stamp-collector Zhu Chen-Chen, the long-time partner of the Russian Cultural Center.
As part of summer educational programs a group of pupils of the secondary school at the Beijing University of Foreign Languages (Langfang, Hebei province) has visited the Russian Cultural Center to attend the exhibition. Zhu Chen-Chen told schoolchildren about his hobby and the history of the unique collection.
Visitors enjoyed studying rare stamps and expressed their views. During the opening day more than 100 visitors attended the exposition.
“Russia – China: From the History of Relations” electronic collection is available on the portal of the Presidential Library. The collection features various digitized documents (books, archives, visual materials and maps), which cast light on the history of relations between Russian and its major partner in the Far East – China. The collection of documents give an insight into these relations from the perspective of centuries-long diplomatic ties, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation.
