Cinema in the sky: Yakutia airlines passengers will see Presidential Library films

3 September 2018

The Presidential Library features its films on airliners flying to the east of our country. Until December 31, 2018, on four Sukhoi Superjet 100 and one Boeing 737-800 aircrafts operating Yakutia, you are available a number of films taken by the Presidential Library dedicated to the history and culture of Russia.

The film "... my address on the Moika nearby Konnyushenny Bridge" tells about the life of Alexander Pushkin in St. Petersburg, on the Moika, 12, about the daily affairs of the poet, his family, friends and, of course, about the last days of life.

From the video plot "Geography of the Pearl of Russia" you can learn about the exhibition of the same name, which took place in the Presidential Library. The main attention in the plot is given to the description of rare editions, geographical maps, Arctic and Antarctic research. The "Northern" theme is also raised in the "Development of the Arctic and the Northern Sea Route", which includes memories and notes of travelers, as well as marine atlases of different years.

Last year's meeting of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, the Presidential Library prepared the collection "The Point of Attraction - the Russian Far East", video materials about the collection are also available to the passengers of the airline "Yakutia".

The collections of arts and crafts of the Novgorod State Unified Museum-Reserve will be reflected in “The Golden Pantry of Veliky Novgorod. Part 1" and "The Golden Pantry of Veliky Novgorod. Part 2”.

About the history of the foundation and development of the historic center of St. Petersburg in the period from 1703 to 1820s can be found from the film "The most deliberate city - a monument created by the state". And about the Victory in the Great Patriotic War - in the film "Victory is One to Everyone".

Finally, passengers will be surprised to discover the history of the alphabet and language thanks to the film "Word - Sense. Kultura = Culture. Part 1-2. Phraseological units". It reveals the meaning and history of the emergence of such phraseological units as "find oneself in a hopeless situation", "stare at the wall", "make sure", "miss the boat", "offer one’s mite", etc.

In a word, the Presidential Library and the airline "Yakutia" found what unites heaven and earth, which is interesting for the reader and viewer from any region of our country.

Moreover the films of the Presidential Library are available for viewing to passengers of long-distance and international flights of the airline "Yakutia", performed on Boeing and Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft.

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 liners are actively involved in the implementation of interregional air transportation throughout Siberia and the Far Eastern Federal District, as well as on flights to China, South Korea and Japan (from Novosibirsk, Blagoveshchensk, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Anadyr, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Magadan, Chita , Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Ulan-Ude).

Boeing 737-800 with the films of the Presidential Library carries out flights from Yakutsk to Moscow.

Videos are uploaded to the special AirFi entertainment system, airline "Yakutia", which allows watching videos, read news, books and magazines directly from phones, tablets, laptops themselves, rather than from displays installed behind the seats, like some other airlines. Interestingly, the content is transmitted via Wi-Fi technology to people's electronic devices even without connecting to the Internet. And this service is absolutely free for those who fly in an airplane.

The Presidential Library allows getting familiar with a large number of electronic copies of various historical documents, old books, photographs.

The separate thematic collection "The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia): Pages of History" is dedicated to Yakutia on the portal of the Presidential Library. The selection features essays, reference and archive materials on the development of the modern territory of the largest constituent entity of the Russian Federation and individual aspects of the region's development in the period of the XVIII-mid-XX century. Here, for example, the current Constitution of the Republic, adopted in 1992, is presented. Among other materials about the region are the "Proceedings of the Yakutsk expedition equipped with the money of I. M. Sibiryakov" (1900) with descriptions of unusual tales reflecting the local way of life, an ethnographic essay "The Yakuts in Their Home Conditions" (1909) or "The Bibliography of Yakutia" (1932), where the republic is compared with the "Soviet Klondike", "Olekminsky California" because of the large amount of gold and other minerals. And the book "In the Unknown Mountains of Yakutia" (1928) tells that travels in Siberia and the Far East can be no less exciting than in Africa or South America.
