The Presidential Library to be available to any resident of the Republic of Crimea
Within the framework of the project “International Music Festival "Palaces of Crimea - Palaces of St. Petersburg"” the Presidential Library collections will be enriched will almost 50 thousand unique materials and documents from the libraries of Simferopol, Yalta, Feodosia, Evpatoria, Kerch. This was announced at a press conference timed to the launch of a large-scale project, which will be implemented from 5 to 20 September in the imperial palaces of the Republic of Crimea.
According to Valentin Sidorin, Acting Director General of the Presidential Library, the unification of the information resources of the Crimean libraries will help to strengthen friendly ties between our regions.
In turn, the First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Crimea Tatyana Manezhina noted that "Crimean cultural institutions closely cooperate with similar institutions in St. Petersburg. Effective work is being done with libraries, especially with the Presidential Library".
Art director of the festival - Honored Artist of Russia, President of the Fund of the International Music Festival "Palaces of St. Petersburg" Maria Safaryants emphasized that the project "International Music Festival "Palaces of Crimea - Palaces of St. Petersburg", which is carried out with the grant of the President of the Russian Federation for development civil society, provided by the Foundation for Presidential Grants, will be implemented for the first time in the newest history of Russia. For two weeks, outstanding stars of the European and Russian scenes will perform at the grounds of the Livadia, Massandrovsky, Vorontsov palaces, the castle "Swallow's Nest", the legendary Yalta Chekhov Theater and the International Children's Center "Artek".
Within the framework of the International Music Festival "Palaces of Crimea - Palaces of St. Petersburg" on September 18, 2018 at 9:30 the Livadia Palace will host a conference of the Presidential Library dedicated to the preservation of historical memory in the digital environment, with the participation of libraries, archives, museums, media, from different regions of Russia. At the event in Yalta, the specialists of the Presidential Library will present an electronic collection of unique documents on the history of the Crimea from ancient times to the present day - "The Republic of Crimea: Pages of History". The event will be broadcasted live on the Presidential Library portal in the section "Live broadcast".
It’s worth noting that the Presidential Library and the Republic of Crimea have been developing active cooperation since April 2016 within the framework of the signed cooperation agreement. Residents of Crimea take an active part in video-conference communication in the events of the Presidential Library.
Currently several centers of access to the Presidential Library resources are successfully functioning in the Republic of Crimea: on the basis of the I. Y. Franco Crimean Republican Universal Research Library and on the site of the O. I. Korsovetsky Inter-settlement Central Regional Library.. September 16 at 11:00 it is planned to open a remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library in the International Children's Center "Artek", which will provide free access to the richest library holdings, which now has about 640 thousand items. Thus, the Presidential Library will be represented not only in the tourist centers of the Republic of Crimea, but will also be accessible to every resident of the Republic.
