The book about famous coach Anatoly Rakhlin is now available in the Presidential Library collections
The Presidential Library and the St. Petersburg Regional Public Organization "Judo Club Turbostroitel" signed an agreement on cooperation. President of the club Mikhail Rakhlin, the son of the famous coach, donated the book "Anatoly Rakhlin. Coach" - about the teacher, who for 50 years of activity has trained more than 100 masters of sports. Among his students are people who have become famous not only in sports, but also in politics, science, business.
"After returning from the army, my father, who gains a diploma of the Herzen University, returned to coaching at various factory and college teams. Later, he formed a desire to work with adolescents and young men. We calculated that about 10,000 boys and girls were raised by him. Not all of them have achieved the highest results in their sport, and the father did not set such a task, considering as the main to educate a good person, a responsible person, a patriot of his Motherland", - said Mikhail Rakhlin.
Mikhail Anatolyevich also thanked journalist Yuri Svetov and artist Dmitry Burganovsky, who attended the meeting, for fruitful joint work on the book about his father.
Within the framework of the agreement, a public organization will participate in the formation of electronic thematic and personal studies collections of the Presidential Library, as well as in the implementation of joint projects aimed at promoting Russia's sporting achievements. "In plans, in particular, the opening of a multimedia exhibition dedicated to Anatoly Rakhlin, and a video lecture about him for Russia and abroad", - said Acting Director General of the Presidential Library Valentin Sidorin.
In addition, the portal features the most interesting collection "Sport in Russia", it contains official documents, archive materials, studies, educational literature, reference and visual materials, periodicals reflecting the history of the development of sports of our country. Particularly highlighted the section is dedicated to football and, in particular, 2018 FIFA World Cup. The collection includes both historical and modern materials.
According to Valentin Sidorin, acting Director General of the Presidential Library, Rakhlin is a coach who raised personal achievements above sports achievements, and this approach to the upbringing of the sports shift should become an example for the younger generation.
Today the son of the famous athlete Mikhail Rakhlin is Honored Coach of Russia, President of the “Judo Club Turbostroitel”, founder of the A. S. Rakhlin Foundation for Support and Development of Judo and the A. S. Rakhlin Physical School of Olympic Reserve in Judo. He actively participates in public activities aimed at stimulating the interest of young people in active sports, promoting judo in Russia and educating worthy citizens of the country; develops its own charity projects in support of young athletes; is a continuer of the glorious traditions of the Leningrad Judo School laid down by the legendary sports coach A. S. Rakhlin.
The meeting with Mikhail Rakhlin and donating of the book about his father to the Presidential Library has become another significant event in a series of interesting and large-scale events within the Knowledge Forum of the Presidential Library.
