The exhibition "Chronicles and Legends of the Royal Mountain" underway at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Prague
The Russian Center of Science and Culture in Prague is hosting the exhibition "Chronicles and Legends of the Royal Mountain", dedicated to the 740th anniversary of the memory of the Czech tsar Premysl Otakar II. The event was prepared by the Kaliningrad Regional Historical and Art Museum with the support of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Czech Republic.
The acting head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Czech Republic, Andrei Konchakov, noted that the exhibition was the result of painstaking work by specialists from the Kaliningrad Regional Historical and Art Museum in cooperation with the public organization Prague Mystic. He also added that the Czech tsar Přemysl Otakar II, the founder of the fortress of Koenigsberg, is the link for Czech and Russian history.
Academic secretary of the Kaliningrad Regional Historical and Art Museum Yekaterina Manyuk told about the features of the exposition. The exhibition presents a large number of copies of images and photographs of museum items that give an opportunity to get familiar with the life and traditions of the inhabitants of Prussia of the XIII century, learn about the activities of the Teutonic Order in the territory of these lands, as well as the period of their stay under the auspices of the Russian crown in the period from 1758 on the year 1762. In addition, you can see the author's comics of the artist Helena Ananyina, "alive" when reading the QR code through electronic devices, as well as stereoscopic photographs of the "augmented reality", for viewing which visitors are given special glasses: thus they can more fully feel the atmosphere The Middle Ages.
Much attention is paid directly to the construction of the fortress of Konigsberg. The royal mountain was laid in 1255 on the north bank of the Pregel River on the site of the Prussian fortress of Twangsta at the direction of Premysl Otakar II. Residents of modern Kaliningrad remember about this event: at the Royal Gate, restored to the 750th anniversary of the city, sculptural images of the rulers of these places, including the king of the Czech Republic Otakar II in full knightly vestments.
The Presidential Library portal presents the electronic collection "Russia-Czech Republic: from the history of relations". In the course of European history, the paths of the two countries, Russia and the Czech Republic, were repeatedly crossed. The proposed selection includes studies, essays, official documents and photographs highlighting certain aspects of life in the Czech Republic and its relationship with Russia during the XIII-XXI centuries.
