“Volgograd is on Air!” exhibition opened in Volgograd Regional Center of the Presidential Library

The exhibition “Volgograd is on Air!”, dedicated to 85th anniversary of the regional radio, was mounted on September 13, 2018 in the Volgograd Regional Center of the Presidential Library, Maxim Gorky Regional Research Library.

The exposition showcases fragments of periodical press, which shed light on the history of the local radio, photographs of the staff, radio receivers and microphones of 1950s – 1980s, and also periodicals from the collections of the Volgograd Regional Library.

Volgograd Region is in the spotlight of “Volgograd Region: Pages of History” collection, available on the website of the Presidential Library. The collection features studies, essays, memoirs, archival papers, official collections of works and reviews of statistics, as well as minutes of uyezd Zemstvo meetings, which cover the history, archaeology, economy, demography and military-administrative development of the territories during 13th – 20th centuries, which today make up Volgograd Region (former Tsaritsyn and Kamyshin districts of Saratov Governorate).
