The Open Day in the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Rome

The Open Day was launched in the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Rome, Benedetto Cairoli Square. Oleg Osipov, the head of the center, focused on the main lines of work of Rossotrudnichestvo office, major events, organized by the center, and new initiatives of 2018–2019. Particular attention was paid to youth programs, educational projects and Russian language courses at the Russian Center of Science and Culture.

Irina Dvizova, the Russian language teaching methods specialist, Russian Center of Science and Culture, made a speech in which she highlighted the structure of lessons, teaching methods and necessary student books.

As part of the event two open Russian language lessons were held. Attendees had a chance to learn about the Cyrillic script and virtual linguistic platforms featuring courses, training and lectures.

Guests of the Russian Center of Science and Culture found out about the new series of lectures “Portraits of Russian Writers”. At these monthly meetings (on Wednesdays) attendees will learn about the life of prominent Russian writers and poets, and momentous events in the history of Russia.

At the end of the day there was a presentation of V. Astafyev’s book “Boye”, that was translated into the Italian for the first time. The meeting was attended by the Professor of Russian Language and Literature Michaela Bohming, translator Annalisa Di Santo and writer Sandro Bonvissuto.

The Presidential Library’s portal provides access to the electronic collection “Russian language”, which features manuscripts and publications on the history of Russian language, archival papers, research works (including theses and abstracts of theses), dictionaries and reference books, and educational books of various types and levels. The “Russian language” electronic collection will arouse interest not only among the academic community and linguists, but also among general users, who love and appreciate the value of the Russian language.
