On Thursday, October 11, 2018 a cooperation agreement between the Presidential Library and the operator of the city tourist program Saint-Petersburg Card was solemnly signed.

Object of an agreement is strengthening information cooperation, sharing experience, developing new areas in education and public awareness campaigns, forming strong knowledge about the history and traditions of the peoples of Russia, the patriotic and civic education of the younger generation, developing social processes of interethnic communication among youth.

Director General of the Presidential Library Valentin Sidorin and Director General of Saint-Petersburg Card Andrei Shapovalov signed the document.

It should be emphasized that Presidential Library, being the largest information and cultural center of Russia, has been actively developing as a tourist attraction.

In terms of its technique and resource capabilities, it has no analogues in Russia. Located in the historic center of St. Petersburg, in the building of the Holy Synod, built in the second quarter of the XIX century by the project of the outstanding architect Karl Rossi, the library includes electronic reading and exhibition rooms, a conference room, multimedia and television complexes that attract not only readers but also tourists.

Anyone can learn about the institution, see the historic interiors and modern premises, have a tour around the Presidential Library or a thematic tour of its temporary exhibitions. The latter allow you to learn more about the exposition and learn about landmark events, Russian statesmen and little-known facts from the history of our country.

The exposition devoted to the history of constitutional ideas in Russia since 1905 and, in particular, to the adoption of the basic law of the country - the Constitution of the Russian Federation - is exhibited in the Constitution Hall.

In 2017, more than 10 thousand people visited the Presidential Library. The excursion activity continues to actively develop.

The Presidential Library hosts meetings of government officials and the professional community on the development of tourism. So, on May 16, 2018 a meeting on “Issues of participation of the hospitality industry in state events of federal significance” was held here. At the same time, the first council of experts in the field of tourist industry gathered in the Presidential Library.

In addition, the Presidential Library has been constantly participating in the Open City cultural and educational project. This is a long-term program of free tours for residents and guests of the city to historical places of St. Petersburg including cultural heritage sites.
