Doors Open Day for Czech schoolchildren held at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Prague

The Russian Center of Science and Culture in Prague was visited by third and fourth year students and teachers of the Yakub Skoda Gymnasium from the city of Prerov. Russian language teachers of the gymnasium have been cooperating with the Russian language courses at the RCSC in Prague for many years and actively participate in its activities.

In the course of the tour, students and teachers visited the Great Hall. There they learned about the events held at the RCSC and received an invitation to participate in the creative Russian competition “ARS Poetics – Monument to Pushkin”. Then the group examined the collections of the RCSC library.

In the hall and the gallery of the RCSC, guests visited a photo exhibition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the uprising in the concentration camp "Sobibor" and the memorial complex "Trostenets" in Belarus. In the Crystal Hall, students visited the art exhibition of the Russian artist Lyudmila Kharlamova “Happiness to be yourself”.

After the tour, a thematic open lesson on Siberia was held for the guests. During it, the high school students met the indigenous peoples of Siberia, the mountains of Altai, and also watched an educational film about the deepest lake on the planet - Baikal.

Students learned about the opportunity to improve their knowledge of the Russian language at the International Summer School, which is organized annually with the support of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Czech Republic, and also received an invitation to take part in the “Kniguru” competition for young readers.

The Russian Language electronic collection is presented on the Presidential Library’s portal. It includes manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian literature, archival affairs, research papers (including thesis), dictionaries and reference books, and teaching aids. The digital collection “Russian language” will be of interest not only to the academic and educational community and linguists, but also to a wide range of users who love and appreciate the Russian language.
