Cultural and educational project “The Great Master of Language and Style” launched in Minsk

The cultural and educational project “The Great Master of Language and Style”, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of I. S. Turgenev, is launched at the Yanka Kupala Central Library in Minsk. The project was opened with the exhibition of paintings “Ivan Turgenev. Russian European” from the collections of the Pushkin State Museum, one of the organizers of which was the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Minsk.

Opening the event, Vladimir Polyansky, First Deputy Director of the Pushkin State Museum, stressed the world significance of I. S. Turgenev in promoting Russian culture abroad. In turn, the representative of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Minsk, Vyacheslav Pugachev, thanked the Pushkin State Museum for the opportunity to place the exhibition in Belarus.

In the course of the evening, the guests plunged into the world of works of the writer. A pleasant surprise for everyone was the shown fragment from the play “Ivan Sergeevich Turgenev. Asya. Chapters of the Story".

The Presidential Library portal provides access to Ivan Turgenev’s e-works, documents and research about him, for example, A. V. Smirnov’s book “I. S. Turgenev (on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his death)” or the collection “I. S. Turgenev in the memoirs of the revolutionaries of the seventies”.
