Implementation of “Presidential Library in the Southern Urals” project

Within the framework of the Presidential Library in the Southern Urals project, the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Research Library continues opening remote electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library throughout the region. 44 remote access centers are now open.

September 28, 2018, residents of the Uisk and Ashinsky districts of the Chelyabinsk region gained access to the resources of the Presidential Library, on October 10 in the Bobrovsk settlement of Troitsky district was solemnly opened a remote electronic reading room, and October 12 was signed a cooperation agreement between the administration of Korkinsky district and the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Research Library.

The Chelyabinsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library, running on the basis of the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Research Library, arranges multimedia lessons and excursions, advanced training courses for readers, students and schoolchildren, as well as librarians and teachers. The Presidential Library annually holds an interactive Olympiad for students "Russia in the Electronic World".

Thanks to the Presidential Library in the Southern Urals project, the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Research Library, as a methodical center, successfully solves the main task of library and information services for the population of the region, develops informational, cultural and educational spheres of society, and also promotes education by providing access to the Presidential Library resources.

On the website of the Presidential Library Region is represented by the collection: “Chelyabinsk Region: Pages of History”. The collection includes official and archival documents, studies, essays, statistical, graphic, cartographic and other materials covering the administrative structure, geographical location, demographic, economic, socio-political, socio-cultural and other aspects of the history of Chelyabinsk Region.
