New opportunities for learning Russian for Chinese schoolchildren

November 12, 2018, an official meeting was held between the leadership of the school at the Beijing University of Foreign Languages, the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing (RCC) and the Beijing Izvestia Scientific and Technical Company in the field of education. The outcome of this meeting was the conclusion of a tripartite agreement on the training of foreign schoolchildren in Russian language courses at the RCC.

The agreement provides an opportunity to accept more than 20 children for Russian language courses at the RCC by the end of this year. According to the representative of the school management, in the future the number of additional places is planned to increase significantly.

According to Olga Melnikova, the head of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Beijing, schoolchildren studying the Russian language at courses at the RCC had good chances to join the ranks of Chinese students in Russian universities.

The Russian Language electronic collection is presented on the Presidential Library’s portal. It includes manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian literature, archival files, research papers (including thesis and dissertation abstracts), dictionaries and reference books, and textbooks of various types and levels. The collection will be of interest not only to the academic and educational community and linguists, but also to a wide circle of users who love and appreciate the Russian language.
