The Presidential Library donated books to the Dostoevsky Library

The album “The Expanses of Russia in Color Photography” with photographs by S. M. Prokudin-Gorsky, the historical study “Germans and their Russian descendants”, two-volume book “1941: documents and materials marking the 70th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War” - these and others books issued by the Presidential Library Publishing House will enrich the collections of the Dostoevsky Library in Staraya Russa. Thus, the Presidential Library supported the action “To the City of Dostoevsky - a book as a gift” launched in November by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

“The Presidential Library and Rossiyskaya Gazeta have long concluded a cooperation agreement, and our participation in the action “To the City of Dostoevsky - a book as a gift” is only a part of joint activities”, - says acting Director General of the Library Valentin Sidorin. - We support the interests of not only our regular visitors, but also those who, for various reasons, do not have access to our collections. The current campaign to collect books for the library of Staraya Russa is only the beginning of a big and important business”.

In the framework of the action “To the City of Dostoevsky - a book as a gift”, the editorial office of Rossiyskaya Gazeta appealed to writers and poets to hand over their books with an inscription and autograph to the Dostoevsky Library. At the end of the action will be organized an evening dedicated to those who responded to the call, and an exhibition where all the donated books will be presented. Rossiyskaya Gazeta will write an article about each giver.

Presented by Staraya Russa to the Presidential Library the album “The Expanses of Russia in Color Photography” is dedicated to the heritage of one of the founders of the national color photography S. M. Prokudin-Gorsky, who at the turn of the 20th century captured all of Russia.

The collection "1941" includes documents and materials, some of which are published for the first time. They will allow readers to more clearly present the course of events and the atmosphere of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. The materials cover the period from December 1940 to July 1941 and reflect the features of the prewar political crisis, the readiness of states for war, show the everyday life of soldiers at the front, the situation in the Soviet rear, partisan fighting, etc.

The book "Germans and their Russian descendants" includes a study of the history of Russian clans of German origin, which left a significant mark in the annals of Russian history.

The collection “European legislation on librarianship and compulsory copies of documents” contains translations of the texts of regulatory legal acts of a number of European countries in the field of library organization and the formation of library collections. The materials of the collection reflect the foreign experience of the legal regulation of the use of electronic documents in libraries, digitization of publications and the preservation of the digital heritage, affecting copyright issues.

Vocabulary of modern information and legal vocabulary "Medialexion" contains terms that are used in the laws governing the activities of searching for, receiving, storing, transmitting, producing and distributing information.

Books issued by the publishing complex of the Presidential Library regularly participate at the St. Petersburg International Book Fair, the Moscow International Book Fair and the Book Fair in Frankfurt am Main.
