Center of remote access to the resources of the Presidential Library opened in Michurinsk

November 29, 2018, marking the day of the 120th anniversary of the Michurinsk Central City Library, an access center to the resources of the Presidential Library was opened.

The event presented the activities of the Presidential Library, the regional center of which runs on the basis of the Pushkin Tambov Regional Universal Research Library. Head of the Center N. Makarova noted that the cooperation of the Presidential Library and the City Library of Michurinsk has been developing since 2015. During this time, a lot of joint work was done to digitize books from the Central City Library and the Michurinsk Regional Museum, about 150 sources were transferred to the Presidential Library, including especially valuable publications and handwritten objects of cultural heritage.

Library professionals from Tambov Region took part in the seminar “The Central City Library as an Intellectual Center of the Information Cultural Space” organized by the Michurinsk Central City Library and the Pushkin Tambov Research Library in the framework of the regional school of the creative librarian “Mobile Professional”. Library specialists from Michurinsk shared their work experience, summed up the results of their participation in All-Russian professional competitions, discussed upcoming work plans.

On the website of the Presidential Library, Tambov Region is represented by Tambov Region: Pages of History collection. Studies, statistical materials and archival documents of the end of XVIII - early XX century characterize the administrative, economic, demographic, educational and religious position of the Tambov province. The selection also includes the current Charter of the region.
