4 December 2018

The exhibition of photographer Dmitry Ostroumov and the academic and theological conference dedicated to the centenary anniversary of the death of Emperor Nicholas II and his family, as well as the beginning of the Civil War in Russia, were held at the Russian Cultural Information Center in Sofia. The event was organized by the courtyard of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia in Sofia with the support of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Bulgaria.

The opening ceremony of the “Royal Passion-Bearers” exhibition was attended by the Chief Secretary of the Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, Bishop Melnishsky Gerasim, diplomats, dozens of citizens and Russian compatriots.

Natalia Kiktenko, acting head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in the Republic of Bulgaria, in her welcoming speech noted that the exhibition “Royal Passion-Bearers” and the conference “Russian Golgotha: Passion-bearers, New Martyrs and Exiles” will present Bulgarian citizens and Russian compatriots the family of the last Russian emperor, who became an example of family life — love, cleanliness, parenting, patriotism. This is especially important for the younger generation and young people.

The exposition is available in the Marble Hall of the RCIC until December 20, 2018.

The Presidential Library’s portal provides access to the collection "The Execution of the Royal Family". The collection, timed to the centenary anniversary of the death of the royal family in Yekaterinburg, features the first research into the circumstances of the shooting in the Ipatiev House, published in the 1920s, in particular the book of the British journalist Robert Wilton, the brochure of the White movement participant V.
