The results of a single regional action "Your name is unknown, your feat is immortal" summed up in Murmansk

A single action "Your name is unknown, your feat is immortal", dedicated to the Day of the Unknown Soldier, took place in Murmansk Region.

The action was organized by the Murmansk State Regional Universal Research Library, based on the regional center of the Presidential Library. The event included a meeting with members of the regional branch of the All-Russian public movement Search Movement in Russia, representatives of the Dolina search team (Murmansk). Svyatoslav Basinsky and Yevgeny Mishin told about their work on finding soldiers missing in Murmansk Region, about the ceremonial burial of the remains of Soviet soldiers found in 2018 who died during the Great Patriotic War.

The event opened a photo exhibition "The names of the soldiers' medallions", which presents photographs of soldiers who were able to identify the personal things found. Students of schools and gymnasiums who came to the meeting not only learned about the search work, but also got familiar with the exhibits of the Great Patriotic War and were able to ask questions to the commanders of the search teams.

The action was joined by cities and villages of the Polar region - Olenegorsk, Kandalaksha, Kola, Severomorsk, Pechenga, Safonovo, Lovozero, Revda, Zelenoborsky, Zasheek, ZATO Aleksandrovsk. In total, over 500 people took part in the events.

On the website of the Presidential Library, Murmansk Region is represented by the collection “Murmansk Region: Pages of History”. The proposed collection includes studies, statistical materials, archival documents, graphic and video materials reflecting geography, socio-economic and political aspects of the history of the region in the second half of the XVIII - the first third of the XX century, as well as the current Charter of Murmansk Region.
