A series of events on theater arts held by specialists of the Penza Regional Center of the Presidential Library

Prior to the upcoming Year of the Theater the Lermontov Penza Regional Library hosts a series of events “Theatrical meetings in the library. Books. Names. Performances”. On December 13, 2018, specialists of the Penza Regional Center of Access to the Resources of the Presidential Library prepared a presentation entitled “Pages of the History of Theater Art”, which presented materials on various periods of the development of theatrical art. The presentation was accompanied by numerous quotes from digitized sources.

The Presidential Library presents modern editions of this subject, including the work of Penza authors.

A local historian, a collector and theater director Igor Sergeyevich Shishkin presented his book “The Penza Theater yesterday and today. View from the auditorium” to the attendees. The collection of Igor Shishkin has more than one hundred thousand theater photographs, and the album includes the brightest shots: scenes from performances and artists' portfolios. Now the collector digitizes postcards with photographs of theater actors.

On the website of the Presidential Library, Penza Region is represented by “Penza Region: Pages of History” collection. It includes archival documents, essays, studies and statistical materials covering demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of the region of the end of the XVIII - first third of the XX century. The current charter of the region is presented.
