The Novosibirsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library arranged a series of quizzes dedicated to Ivan Turgenev

The Novosibirsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library, running on the basis of the Novosibirsk State Regional Research Library, arranged a series of quizzes for schoolchildren and students in honor of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Russian writer Ivan Turgenev.

The work began in September in the lead-up to the interactive exhibition “Turgenev. Patriot of Russian Nature”, as well as informal meetings with students which aroused an active interest of the audience.

In October, quizzes on the works of Turgenev studied in literature classes, such as Asya, Biryuk, Bezhin Meadow, and Fathers and Sons were held. The students of the Kosygin Novosibirsk Cooperative College took an interest in the event, which was attended by several groups of students from different courses of this educational organization.

Specialists of the regional center, summing up, noted that the theme of Turgenev's works was particularly relevant for high school students at the end of the year due to the fact that within the framework of the school curriculum, it was during this time that the novel Fathers and Sons was studied. Participants took an interest, excellent knowledge in the biography of the writer and his oeuvre

The Presidential Library portal is featuring the collection “Novosibirsk Region: Pages of History”. The proposed collection includes books, periodicals, archival documents and graphic materials reflecting various aspects of the history of Novosibirsk Region of the period of the 18th - first half of the 20th centuries.
