The results of the contest marking 200th anniversary of Ivan Turgenev summed up in Astana

December 26, 2018 the Kazakhstan branch of the Lomonosov Moscow State University summed up the student’s contest organized by the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Astana, timed to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the birth of Russian writer Ivan Turgenev.

There was held a discussion of reviews written by first year students of the Faculty of Philology after watching the video play “Turgenev. Today!”, staged to the anniversary of the classic of Russian literature by the famous Russian director Gleb Cherepanov.

The best works were awarded with prizes by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Kazakhstan - books with works by Turgenev and tickets to the premiere performance of the Gorky State Academic Theater of Russian Drama.

After awarding ceremony, the director of the RCSC in Astana, Konstantin Vorobyov, and the headquarters of the university discussed the results of joint work in 2018, projects and programs for the Year in the CIS, and also outlined plans for the next year.

The Presidential Library’s portal provides an electronic collection “Ivan Turgenev (1818–1883)”. The collection dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the classic Russian literature, prose writer and poet, playwright, translator, publicist, includes digital copies of books, articles from periodicals, archival documents and visual materials about the life and work of the writer.
