Concert "Music to strengthen friendship" marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China took place in Beijing
The Russian Cultural Center in Beijing hosted a piano concert, “Music to strengthen friendship” timed to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China. On October 2, 1949, the Soviet Union was the first country in the world to recognize the People’s Republic of China the day after its establishment.
The representative of the Chinese Conservatory, Professor Xu Ming, and the staff of the RCC stressed the importance of such events to promote Russian music among the younger generation and further strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties between Russia and China.
The concert program consisted of 14 performances. Young Chinese pianists aged from 6 to 10 years performed works by famous Russian composers - P. I. Tchaikovsky, D. D. Shostakovich, S. V. Rachmaninoff and others.
The Presidential Library portal presents the electronic collection "Russia - China: the History of Relationships". The collection contains digital copies of documents of various types (books, archival, graphic, cartographic materials), reflecting the history of relations between Russia and its most important partner in the Far East - China. The collected documents allow us to look at these relations through the prism of diplomatic contacts, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation over several centuries.
