The Presidential Library and the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts develop cooperation

The St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts hosted a meeting between its directorship and representatives of the Presidential Library. The meeting was attended by the Director General of the library Ilya Bykovnikov, the deputy Director General, Yaroslava Borozdina, Director (for information resources) Elena Zhabko, and the head of the linguistic and software-technological support department Yuliya Selivanova.

The St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts was represented by the Rector Alexander Turgaev, Vice-Rector for research and creative work Arkady Rusakov, Director of the library Ekaterina Fedotova and Dean of the library and information faculty Valentina Brezhneva.

The Director General of the Presidential Library Ilya Bykovnikov and the Rector of the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts (SPbGIK), Alexander Turgayev agreed to continue strategic cooperation between institutions in research, informational, socio-cultural, and other fields of activity, and discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects in various areas.

For information, marking the centenary anniversary of the foundation of the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts the Presidential Library has implemented a special collection dedicated to the history of the university. It includes unique archival and graphic materials provided by the institution: statutory documents and orders for the institute; research plans and results; lists of graduates and materials related to their professional distribution; personal files of employees, teachers and heads of the institute since 1918; house books of the 1930s – 1950s of the university’s buildings on the Millionnaya Street and the Solyany Lane; official thanks to the university for its cultural and educational work; photographs of students and teachers, as well as posters and announcements of concerts and cultural events held at different times in the university.
