29 January 2019

Thematic lessons devoted to the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege were held at the Vietovpetro joint Vietnamese-Russian enterprise secondary school with the support of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Hanoi.

Within the lessons of the “Siege of Leningrad”, the children read the poems of Olga Bergholz, who became the symbol of the besieged city, including “My Medal”, “Blockade Swallow” and many others, as well as met with video footage. The ribbons of the Leningrad Victory brought from Russia became a special sign of that time.

The secondary school at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Vietnam also conducted thematic lessons on the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege. School teachers arranged a video chronicle, after which a discussion about the importance of the feat of Leningrad residents, their courage, will and perseverance and the need to preserve the memory of the siege, was held. The pupils were also shown photographs of the Road of Life and besieged Leningrad.

The Presidential Library’s portal features Defence and Siege of Leningrad e-collection. The selection includes official documents, cards, leaflets, notes, memoirs, diaries, materials from personal archives, photographs and newsreels, wartime newspapers, books, collections of articles, biographies, as well as scientific and fiction literature.
