Medical students visited Ryazan Regional Center of the Presidential Library

The staff of the regional center of the Presidential Library, running on the basis of the Gorky Ryazan Regional Universal Research Library, introduced students of the Pavlov Ryazan State Medical University to the unique capabilities of the largest electronic repository of Russia.

Future clinical psychologists were presented lectures, monographs, books on the psychology of the late XIX - early XX century from the Presidential Library’s collections. As it was noted, “Reports on the activities of the hospital for the mentally ill of the Ryazan provincial zemstvo” was especially useful material for students’ research.

Part of the meeting was dedicated by event participants to the memorable date - the 75th anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi siege. Students were introduced to the electronic collection “Defence and Siege of Leningrad” and the video tour “The Siege: Chronicle of Life”, available on the Presidential Library’s portal.

On the Presidential Library’s portal, the region is represented by “Ryazan Region: Pages of History” collection. It includes studies, essays, archival documents, statistical materials, photographs and audio recordings introducing the administrative, socio-economic, socio-political and cultural development of Ryazan Region in the XIV - early XX century. The current Charter of the region is presented.
