"Crimea - Russia: Past and Present" inter-regional videoconference to be held in Simferopol

In March 2019, the Republic of Crimea celebrates the fifth anniversary of the reunification of Crimea and Russia. In the course of the celebration of this date, solemn events are planned throughout the region.

With the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea on March 14, 2019 at 12:00 (Moscow time) in the framework of the day "Crimean Spring" at the site of the I. Franco Crimean Republican Universal Research Library (Simferopol, 60th anniversary Naberezhnaya St. USSR, 29a) "Crimea - Russia: Past and Present" inter-regional videoconference will be held. The event has been organized by the I. Franco Crimean Republican Universal Research Library and the Presidential Library.

The conference has been organized in order to spread knowledge about the history and development of the Crimean Peninsula as part of the Russian Federation, to determine the historical relationship and prospects for interaction between the republic and the subjects of the Russian Federation.

Honorary guests will visit the Crimean site of the conference, including deputy chairman of the Committee of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea on culture and protection of cultural heritage, deputies of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, representatives of the national militia, the scientific community of Crimea and the media.

Representatives of government bodies, heads and employees of cultural and educational institutions, scientists, researchers, local historians, public figures, creative intelligentsia, students of educational institutions and pupils of general education schools are invited to participate.
