The 250th anniversary of Ivan Krylov’s birth marked at the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing

On February 13, 2019 the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing hosted a thematic event dedicated to the oeuvre of the celebrated Russian fabulist Ivan Krylov. The event brought together pupils of a school at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the People's Republic of China and students of educational courses at the Russian Cultural Center.

Specialists of the center prepared an eventful program, which spotlighted the writer’s biography and oeuvre. A book exhibition was mounted ahead of the event; children recited their favorite works authored by Ivan Krylov, they answered questions of a quiz, did a thematic crossword, watched cartoons based on the writings of Ivan Krylov. Teachers and children also staged several works written by the famous fabulist.

“Ivan Krylov (1769-1844)” electronic collection is available on the portal of the Presidential Library. The collection is dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Krylov, Russian playwright, poet, fabulist, satirist, publicist and publisher of literary and educational magazines. It consists of electronic copies of books, articles, archival documents and visual materials, which cast light on the life and works of Ivan Krylov.
