18 February 2019

On February 13, specialists of the Penza Regional Center of access to the resources of the Presidential Library held a seminar for teachers of the humanities and specialists of rural libraries of Bekovsky District.

The attendees of the seminar “Presidential Library as a Multimedia Platform for Boosting Civic Engagement among the Younger Generation” learnt how to search for information on the portal of the Presidential Library and were offered methodological recommendations on using resources at thematic events. Some resources are freely available on prlib.ru portal, so they may complement the educational process.

The new “Gosudarika” portal, specially developed by the Presidential Library for the younger generation, was presented to participants. It features the materials that will help children either on their own or with teacher’s help to learn about the main sources of the history of the Russian statehood and Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation

The participants of the seminar noted that the resources of the Presidential Library were great extra materials to be used at events aimed at the patriotic education of schoolchildren.

“Penza Region: Pages of History” collection is available on the portal of the Presidential Library. The collection includes archival documents, essays, studies and statistics, which give some insight into demographic, geographic, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of Penza region from the late 18th through 1930s. The current statute of the region is available, too.
