Alexander Pushkin commemorated in Brest

A literary evening “Let’s Read Pushkin”, timed to the Memorial Day of the great Russian poet, took place in the the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Brest.

Pupils of the Lyceum No. 1 (Brest) named after Alexander Pushkin opened the event by lighting a candle of memory. Children prepared a program, which included writer’s lyric poems and prose writings. Pupils of secondary schools No. 25 and No. 31 also took part in the reading. Poet Lidiya Kosachuk recited her poems about Pushkin. The performance of the “Accord” violin ensemble of the gymnasium No. 4 (Brest) was a musical dedication to the favourite classic writer.

“Alexander Pushkin (1799-1837) collection is available on the portal of the Presidential Library. It includes electronic copies of books, articles, archival documents, dissertation abstracts, films, visual and other materials associated with the life and work of the poet and the activities of the state to perpetuate the memory of him. Among the materials of the collection there is an electronic copy of the Charter granted by the Emperor Alexander I to the Imperial Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum, where Alexander Pushkin studied.
