“Libraries for Students” project kicked off again in the Novosibirsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library

In 2019 the Novosibirsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library, which is open at the Novosibirsk State Regional Research Library, launched another edition of “Library for Students” project.

The project aims to promote the resources of the Presidential Library and the Novosibirsk State Regional Research Library and is designed for first-year students of vocational secondary schools and senior pupils of secondary educational institutions. At the event children are told about the opportunity to use the resources of the Presidential Library for studies. They also learn that the library can be a great aid for learning and a good place for intellectual pastime.

As part of the event children discover resources of the Presidential Library in the Electronic Reading Room, work on computers on their own. At the local history lesson a specialist of the Local History Department spotlights the history of the native land and presents the local history portal of the Novosibirsk State Regional Research Library. There is also a tour around the library. Everyone can get a library card.

“Novosibirsk Region: Pages of History” collection is available on the portal of the Presidential Library. The collection includes books, periodicals, archival documents and visual materials, which shed light on different aspects (geographical, administrative and territorial, economic, etc.) of history of Novosibirsk Region from the 18th c. through mid. 20th c. The current statute of Novosibirsk Region is available, too.
