Schools of Astana took part in the Russian Language Week

5 March 2019

With the support of the Russian Center of Science and Culture (RCSC) in Astana, the Russian Language Week was held in the capital of Kazakhstan, in the framework of which thematic open lessons, quizzes and competitions for schoolchildren were arranged. At the same time, in many classes real holidays of Russian literature took place.

Thus, the assembly hall of the school-gymnasium № 74 turned into a magical Lukomorye, where heroes of Pushkin's fairy tales settled in bizarre decorations, and the bright performances of young actors were accompanied by Russian folk songs and dances.

At the Lyceum School № 29, on the contrary, the atmosphere was serious: here the high school students enthusiastically read Anna Akhmatova's poems, talked about the poetry of the Silver Age.

The director of the RCSC in Astana, Konstantin Vorobyov, noted the professionalism of the teachers of the school-gymnasium № 79, most recently built in one of the new districts of the city. In a very short time, the teachers managed to really captivate the children with Russian literature and hold a celebration in honor of the 250th anniversary of Ivan Krylov.

All schools in Astana which took part in the event received portraits of A. Pushkin and books by Russian writers as a gift from the RCSC.

The Russian Language electronic collection is presented on the Presidential Library’s portal. It includes manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian literature, archival files, research papers (including thesis dissertation abstracts), dictionaries and reference books, and textbooks of various types and levels. The collection will be of interest not only to the scientific and educational community and linguists, but also to a wide circle of users who love and appreciate the Russian language.
