Future environmental specialists from Kurgan were introduced to materials about the ecology and native land from the Presidential Library’s collections

March 5, 2019 the Center for Public Access to Information of the Yugov Kurgan Regional Universal Research Library hosted an workshop for environmental students of Kurgan State University on “Resources on the ecology of the Yugov Library – to the education”.

The program of the environmental workshop included an introduction to the website, the electronic catalog, its own and external databases of the regional library.

In the course of the event, students got familiar with a unique resource - the Presidential Library, which is the largest electronic repository of Russia.

The students learned about the opportunities provided by the library’s collections, got familiar with its materials, including documents, books and monographs on ecology. At the end of the event, students became readers of the Presidential Library.

Special attention at the meeting was paid to the collection “Kurgan Region: Pages of History” presented on the Presidential Library’s portal. The selection includes studies, statistical essays, archival documents, cartographic and photographic materials of the XIX - early XXI century, characterizing the administrative, socio-economic, geographical position of Kurgan and Shadrinsk counties, the territory of which forms the basis of the modern Kurgan Region.
