Volunteers of Sakhalin learned how to fulfill their potential

Volunteers of the Sakhalin State University took part in the seminar “Preparation of Applications for Participating in Regional and National Competitions of Youth Initiatives”.

Specialists of the regional center of the Presidential Library, which is open in the Sakhalin Regional Universal Research Library, instructed them how to take part in a competition, keep track of the start of competitions and grants, and study the requirements for filling out grant application forms.

Students explored the websites of the President of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodyozh), the Association of Volunteer Centers, the Government of Sakhalin Region.

At the end of the event, students learned about the electronic resources of the Sakhalin Regional Universal Research Library focused on “Volunteering”.

The region is in the spotlight of “Sakhalin Region. Pages of History” collection. The development of Sakhalin Region, the only Russian region situated entirely on islands, is reflected in travel literature, geographical and historical descriptions of the mid-19th - early 20th centuries and newsreel fragments dating from 1929.
