The Presidential Library’s Poetry Club awarded the winners of the virtual contest of poems

The Presidential Library at Senate Square, 3 awarded the winners of the virtual contest of poems on the historical theme "I will challenge any of the centuries ...".

As part of the awards the final concert was held. Winners' poems - Natalia Kolmogorova (Samara), Galina Semizarova (Ryazan), Ekaterina Kartavtseva (Tula), Vera Dordi (Novosibirsk), Valentina Osipova (St. Petersburg), Nikolay Rogalyov (Ulan-Ude), Zarina Bikmullina (Moscow), Nina Zhiltsova (St. Petersburg), Yuri Yanikov (Bakhchisarai) were performed.

In addition, the best Petersburg authors, whose poems were included in the virtual album of the contest and were posted in its official group on the VKontakte social network, spoke at the meeting. These are the poets Olga Atamanova, Olga Pankova-Kozlovskaya, Nina Agafonova, Andrey Vilavdo, Denis Taranov, Vanda Medvedeva, Margarita Yarygina and Tatyana Timofeeva.

The members of the Poetry Club made a general decision to make the contest annual in the final part of the meeting.

Let us recall that the contest “I will challenge any of the centuries ...” was announced in the official group of the Poetry Club of the Presidential Library on January 2, 2019 and was held with active informational support from regional establishment centers in Moscow Region, Penza, Ryazan, Tambov, Omsk, Rostov Region, Kemerovo, Republic of Crimea, Komi Republic.

The best poets were defined in two nominations: “Russian history in modern poetry” (poems about events and figures of Russian history) and “Each of us is history” (poems dedicated to family history, memories of close people and significant contemporaries).

The participants of the virtual contest touched upon different periods of national history in their works, touched both the light and the tragic pages of it. Many poems dedicated to the Great Patriotic War were presented, - the poets recalled famous heroes, their relatives and friends who defended our country from the enemy.

In total, over 100 authors from 47 settlements of Russia, as well as participants from Ukraine, Belarus and the Czech Republic took part in the contest.
