The exhibition "Pushkin’s Works through the Eyes of the Lyceum Students" opened in Chisinau
On March 26, 2019 Pushkin Auditorium of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Chisinau hosted an opening of the art exhibition “Pushkin’s Works through the Eyes of the Lyceum Students”, prepared by students of the Moscow Lyceum named after the great Russian poet.
The event was attended by pupils of junior classes of the educational institution and their mentors, headed by the lyceum director Oksana Abramova.
The guests of the RCSC were greeted by the curator of the Pushkin audience Olga Bataeva. She told about the 220th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin in Moldova and thanked those present for their active participation in the events held by the Russian Center of Science and Culture.
The presentation of the exhibition was preceded by the speech of the Lyceum director Oksana Abramova. “The purpose of this event is to increase the motivation of children to read literature, expand knowledge of Pushkin’s work, unleash creative potential, and also the aesthetic education of the younger generation. Illustrating Pushkin's works, the guys are attached to the richest cultural heritage, since Pushkin’s work becomes part of their inner world”, - said Abramova.
The exhibition is unusual in that schoolchildren did not just illustrate Pushkin’s favorite works, but composed entire books of them, which included both Pushkin’s texts and poems and essays of the children themselves, dedicated to the great Russian poet. The result was real works of art, about the work on which the class teachers and the children themselves told about.
The poetry of Alexander Pushkin, masterfully read by senior pupils and toddlers, became an excellent poetic addition to the presentation of the exhibition. All participants of the event were presented with books from the RCSC.
The Presidential Library’s portal features the electronic collection “Alexander Pushkin (1799–1837)”. It includes digital copies of books, articles, archival documents, dissertation abstracts, video films, graphic and other materials devoted to the poet’s life and work in preserving the memory of him. Among the materials of the collection is a digital copy of the Diploma granted by Emperor Alexander I to the Imperial Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum, where the poet studied.
