Library classes for people with disabilities held in the Birobidzhan Regional Center of the Presidential Library

April 10, 2019 the Birobidzhan Regional Center of the Presidential Library, based on the Sholem Aleichem Birobidzhan Regional Research Universal Library held a library lesson “Electronic resources for successful learning and development” for young people with disabilities.

The participants of the event were presented with an overview of useful Internet sites that may be useful in obtaining additional education, in organizing interesting leisure activities, etc.

Particular attention was paid to electronic libraries, primarily the main electronic libraries of Russia - the Presidential Library and the National Electronic Library project. Attention of young people attracted information resources and projects implemented by the Presidential Library, in particular "Foreign View" Annual Photo Contest.

The practical part of the lesson presented the website of the Sholem Aleichem Birobidzhan Regional Research Library. Listeners learned about the project “Electronic Library of the Jewish Autonomous Region”, “flipped through” digital copies of historical documents, got familiar with the electronic catalog, etc.

On the Presidential Library portal, the region is represented by the collection “Jewish Autonomous Region: Pages of History”. It includes studies, essays, photographs and other materials featuring the geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and cultural aspects of the history of the development of the Jewish Autonomous Region in the period of 20-30 years of the XX century.
