The events dedicated to the anniversary of Nikolai Gogol ended in Brest

On April 16, 2019 the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Brest hosted a literary game “Gogol - the true leader of the human heart” which was ended with a cycle of events dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the great Russian writer.

The festivities began on April 1 on the birthday of the classic on the Gogol Street from the literary relay "We read Gogol", organized by the Brest branch of the republican public association "Russian Society". Along the alley, where images of scenes and characters from the works of the writer were presented, members of the Russian society, schoolchildren, students and representatives of the creative intelligentsia alternately read excerpts from his works, and then laid flowers at the monument to N. Gogol. The Consul General of the Russian Federation in Brest Igor Konyakin also took part in the event.

April 16, within the framework of the final event “Gogol - the true leader of the human heart” in the assembly hall of the RCSC, pupils competed in the knowledge of the works of Nikolai Vasilievich in the form of a quiz game. The winners and teachers who prepared the children for participation in the intellectual competition received editions of works by Nikolai Gogol from the Russian Center. The participants of the event also saw theatrical miniatures based on the writings of the writers, which were presented by members of the compatriots club "Svetloyar". The Presidential Library’s portal features e-collection “Nikolai Gogol (1809-1852)”, which includes digital copies of books, articles from periodicals, archival documents and graphic materials containing information about the life and work of the writer, the texts of his works.
