Video history of the Presidential Library’s first decade

May 27, 2019 marks the 10th anniversary of the Presidential Library’s foundation, the first electronic national library of Russia. Presentation video “The Presidential Library turns 10. Time of Development", which is available in "Audiovisual Materials" section in "About the Library" column, as well as on the official page of the library in the VKontakte social network, is dedicated to this event.

Today the Presidential Library is the largest national repository of digital copies of the most important documents on the history, theory and practice of Russian statehood, the Russian language. The library’s collections annually replenished with digital copies of documents from various libraries, archives and museums. The users can get access to digital copies visiting the nearest of 1000 remote access centers in all regions of Russia and 30 countries abroad.

The Presidential Library marks its 10th anniversary with a series of events launched in March 2019 (the round table “Presidential Library and Archival Community: 10 Years of Cooperation” and the Legal Forum of the Presidential Library).

A large-scale electronic collection “Presidential Library: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” has been formed by specialists of the Information Resources department together with the Technological department. Official documents, monographs, serials, visual materials, audio-visual resources, etc., will present the history of the creation of the Presidential Library and the development of its regional network, with the peculiarities of the collections’ formation, the results of scientific, methodological, educational, cultural and educational activities.

As part of the institution’s anniversary, a multimedia exhibition based on photographic materials from the Presidential Library’s archive has been formed. It is dedicated to famous people: politicians, scientists, writers, directors, cosmonauts, artists - everyone who has ever participated in the activities of the Presidential Library or events held in the building on Senate Square, 3.

One of the creative projects of the Presidential Library - the International Multimedia Contest “Foreign View”, which is aimed at shaping and preserving Russia's photographic heritage, in 2019 will be held under the auspices of the 10th anniversary of the Presidential Library and will be dedicated to the Year of Theater. The contest starts in the next few days.

Marking the anniversary year, the Presidential Library has launched a new project in social networks “Congratulate the Presidential Library!”. To participate in the campaign, you need to record a congratulatory video of up to four minutes and place it on any social network with the hashtags #prlib_10лет, #Президентскаябиблиотека_10лет, #Президентскаябиблиотека_местопритяжения or post the recorded video to a file sharing service and send a link to mc@prlib.ru.

Shortly, a series of video lectures on the history and activities of the Presidential Library, a series of webinars, films of the Presidential Library and a number of other events will be implemented.
