Orthodox exhibition-forum "Word’s Joy" showcased in the Tomsk Library

From 14 to 19 May 2019 within the XXIX Days of Slavic Literature and Culture the Pushkin Tomsk Regional Research Library hosts the Patriarchal exhibition-forum “Word’s Joy”.

May 15–16, the regional center was visited by senior pupils of Zaozernaya Secondary School № 16 and Tomsk Lyceum № 51. The children were introduced to the resources and educational projects of the Presidential Library, told in detail about the benefits of participating in the Russia in the Electronic World Olympiad, about which the winners of the Olympiad receive benefits when they enter universities.

On May 17, Tomsk Regional Center was visited by pupils of the 5th grade of school № 158 of the city of Seversk. For the children, they held a cognitive lesson “Such Different Books” where they told about the history of the book's development: from rock inscriptions to modern digitized books and electronic libraries. A good example was the Presidential Library, the national electronic library of the country. The guys got familiar with the history of the institution, its educational projects. The handwritten books “Ostromir Gospel”, “Laurentian Chronicle”, “Civil Alphabet with Morals” from the collection of the Presidential Library were demonstrated.

On May 17, attendees of the Lesnaya Dacha Boarding House for the Elderly and Disabled in the Shegarsky District of Tomsk Region have become guests of the center. They were introduced to the history, resources, activities of the Presidential Library, and were told in detail about the “Collections” section on the institution's portal. In particular, the following electronic collections were presented to the guests - “Tomsk Region: Pages of History”, “Open Space”, “Defence and Siege of Leningrad”.
