
The Presidential Library is taking part in the Red Square Book Festival
From June 1 to June 6, 2019 the Presidential Library is traditionally, for the fifth time, taking part in the Red Square Book Festival in Moscow.
As part of the festival, the Presidential Library’s specialists will tell about the possibilities of using the materials of the collections and launch consultations on connecting the libraries to the Presidential Library’s electronic collections. Multimedia lessons about Russkaya Pravda (Rus’ Justice) - the first monument of law in Russia, the Constitution of Russia, state symbols of Russia, as well as a virtual tour around the Presidential Library will be presented to festival participants.
The Presidential Library has also prepared quizzes for the guests of the festival: “Two Capitals”, which will spotlight the history of foundation and architecture of St. Petersburg and Moscow; Laurentian Chronicle, which contains questions about the graphics and vocabulary of this monument, as well as quizzes on the history, social studies and Russian language (based on the tasks of Russia in the Electronic World Olympiad).
The Presidential Library has more than 160 remote electronic reading rooms in Moscow and in Moscow region. As part of the Red Square festival, the digital collection “Moscow and Moscow Region in the Presidential Library’s Electronic Collections” and the basic principles of development of regional studies collections will be presented as part of the festival.
Electronic content and documentary films from the Presidential Library’s collection: “Presidential Library: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”, “Time to Remember. Daniil Granin", "Icebreaker "Krasin": 100 Years in the History of Russia” will be shown within the festival.
On the final days of the festival – on June 5 - 6 - everyone is invited to take part in the interactive cultural and educational presentation-quiz under the title "My Familiar Unfamiliar Magazines", based on the Presidential Library’s collections.
