The Presidential Library awarded the winners of the fifth, anniversary All-Russian contest “Russia’s heart will never forget you, the first love ...”, dedicated to the 220th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin’s birth.

This year, about 600 works from schoolchildren were submitted to the jury; 42 people became laureates and 52 – the prize-awardees.

“The works of Alexander Pushkin in the context of Russian and world culture", "Pushkin and music", "Female images in the works of Alexander Pushkin", "The contribution of Alexander Pushkin to the development of the Russian literary language" - Russian schoolchildren conducted their studies on the basis of the extensive collections of the Presidential Library on these and other topics. They found rare and truly unique materials, in particular, in an electronic collection dedicated to the great poet, which is posted on the organization's portal. It includes digital copies of books, articles, archive documents, video films and visual materials.

“Within the contest, the schoolchildren prepared several websites about Alexander Pushkin, worked on studying the language of the poet, reviewed his traditions in modern Russian literature, analyzed the screen versions of Pushkin's works in cinema and staged at the theater, wrote very interesting studies and essays about Pushkin", - said Olga Mazur, a member of the contest's organizing committee, deputy director of the Information and Methodological Center of the Primorsky District of St. Petersburg. She highly appreciated the opportunity to study rare materials provided by the Presidential Library, one of the founders of the contest, and expressed confidence in further cooperation.

The contest “Russia’s heart will never forget you, the first love ...”, began as a district one. Then it quickly became urban, and pupils from schools in Leningrad Region also took part in it. In 2017 he received the All-Russian status. The organizers hope that in the near future a new peak will be taken - the contest will become international.

The Presidential Library has been interacting with the youth audience and students. Regularly conferences, webinars, cinema club meetings and other events dedicated to the formation of the Russian statehood, the Russian language and the history of the fatherland are held in the building on Senate Square, 3. Much attention is paid to the children's press. Thus, in 2018 a round table about the prospects for the development of this area in the media was held at the Presidential Library. The final stage of the business game among senior pupils “Your Choice”, devoted to electoral law in Russia, took place. The Presidential Library has become a platform for one of the main stages of the annual city contest “Journalist Marathon”, which was attended by over a hundred representatives of the editorial boards of school publications in St. Petersburg. Another major project of the institution is Russia in the Electronic World Olympiad. Moreover, a special Internet resource “Gosudarika” has been established for schoolchildren and students. Its main goal is to show children the national heritage, reflecting the theory, history and practice of the Russian statehood.
