"Quest on Pushkin's fairy tales" held in the Tomsk Library

Within the project of the Pushkin Tomsk Regional Universal Research Library “Summer in Pushkinka”, the staff of the Tomsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library held a play event for children “Quest on Pushkin’s fairy tales”.

The event was attended by six groups of summer playground at schools of Tomsk. The guys got familiar with Pushkin’s life and work. The library’s specialists prepared a fascinating conversation about the poet's childhood, talked about the important role the nanny Arina Rodionovna played in his life, how Pushkin became a student of the Imperial Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum, about the history of the tragic duel between Pushkin and Dantes and many other things.

After the cognitive part, the guys took part in the quest “The World of Pushkin's Fairy Tales”. The main task of the game is to “assemble” a key phrase that Pushkin once said: “Reading is the best teaching. Following the thoughts of a great man is the most entertaining science”.

The guys had to go through three stations: "Baba Yaga", "Smart Cat" (Kot Uchuyonny), "Koschei the Immortal". Each of them tested knowledge of works of Pushkin. Participants solved crossword puzzles and riddles on the knowledge of characters from Pushkin's fairy tales and poems, recalled in which work mysterious objects from “Koshchei's chest” were mentioned, and much more.

After the end of the quest a quiz was held to consolidate all the knowledge gained.

The Presidential Library’s portal features “Tomsk Region: Pages of History” collection. It includes essays, statistical and cartographic materials, archival documents of the late XIX - early XX century, covering the demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of Tomsk Region as well as is the current Charter of the region.
