Young readers visited the Presidential Library

Specialists of the Penza Regional Center of Access to the Resources of the Presidential Library held a practice-oriented lesson on working with the content of the electronic library for students of gymnasium № 13.

The guys visited the remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library and learned how prlib.ru website provided access in the electronic environment to the national cultural heritage, dedicated to the theory, history and practice of the Russian statehood and the Russian language as the state language of the Russian Federation, according to what principle collections are formed and how to find materials on the topic required.

Schoolchildren learned to navigate the Presidential Library’s portal. "On this day" section covers significant dates and events. For example, on June 25, 1812, Alexander I issued an order for the troops, announcing the invasion of Napoleon and the beginning of the war. On the same day, they were given a rescript addressed to the Chairman of the State Council and the Committee of Ministers of Count N. I. Saltykov “On the need to take up weapons to repel French troops from the Russian borders”.

The pupils received particulars of the war of 1812 in “Patriotic War of 1812” collection, which included numerous materials reflecting the history of opposition to the enemy.

Moreover, schoolchildren found out more information about “Russia in the Electronic World” Interactive Olympiad, which the Presidential Library holds annually for senior pupils, and answered the questions of last year’s Olympiad.

The Presidential Library’s portal provides access to “Penza Region: Pages of History” collection. It includes archive documents, essays, studies and statistical materials covering demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of the region of the late 18th - first third of the 20th century as well as the current Charter of Penza Region.
