The Russian Center of Science and Culture and the Nur-Sultan State Archive have defined ways of cooperation

27 June 2019

The capital of Kazakhstan hosted a meeting  between the director of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Nur-Sultan, Konstantin Vorobyov, and the director of the State Archives of the city of Nur-Sultan, Meyram Bektembayev. The parties discussed issues of cooperation and ways to implement joint projects.

According to Konstantin Vorobyov, the two structures have a very important unifying activity - the work of preserving historical memory, countering the falsification of the events of our common past.

For his part, Meyram Bektembayev emphasized that Kazakhstan and Russia have a very rich common history, which today, unfortunately, is not always objectively interpreted. In his opinion, in such a delicate matter there should be no distortion. Work in this direction should be based on the principles of historical authenticity and should be carried out using modern methods in order to make information as accessible as possible to citizens of both countries.

The parties agreed to continue work on the implementation of a number of promising projects.

The cooperation of the RCSC with the Nur-Sultan State Archive began is activley developed in 2019. The first step in joint work was the exposition “Posters of the Great Patriotic War”, which was launched on the eve of the Day of Memory and Sorrow on one of the central streets of the Kazakh capital.

The Presidential Library's portal features the collection “Russia - Kazakhstan: the History of Relationships”.
