Strategic partnership and interaction between Russia and China discussed in Beijing

On July 6, 2019 the International Academic Conference “New Stage of Comprehensive and Strategic Partnership and Interaction, the 70th Anniversary of Establishing Diplomatic Relations” was held in the capital of China, organized by the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. 

The event was attended by senior executives and representatives of ministries and departments of China, employees of the Russian Embassy in China, heads and representatives of academic institutions of the CASS, representatives of scientific organizations and universities of Russia and China.

Opening the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to the People's Republic of China stressed that there was the most extensive and comprehensive mechanism of dialogue and bilateral cooperation between the countries . According to the diplomat, the uniqueness of these relations lies in an unprecedented level of mutual trust.

The conference was divided into thematic sections, where the trends, development, prospects of 70 years of bilateral relations, as well as economic and humanitarian cooperation between Russia and China were discussed. The exchange of views of representatives of the academic community of the two countries was aimed at developing joint and constructive approaches to solving topical issues of our time.

The Presidential Library’s portal features “Russia - China: the History of Relationships” collection, which includes digital copies of documents of various types (books, archival, graphic, cartographic materials) reflecting the history of relations between Russia and its most important partner in the Far East - China. They allow looking at these relations through the prism of diplomatic contacts, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation for several centuries.
