29 July 2019

July 25, 2019 the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing held for Chinese schoolchildren events dedicated to the culture and traditions of Russia.

Specialists of the center prepared an interesting and informative program for guests. The guys tried on Russian folk costumes, mastered the movements of Russian folk dance, got familiar with a photo exhibition dedicated to the activities of the outstanding Soviet diplomat and statesman Andrei Gromyko, visited the exhibit of folk crafts and decorative arts, as well as the library which since 2010 runs center of remote access to the resources of the Presidential Library.

Familiarity with the electronic collections has become a distinctive addition to the program of events at the RCC. For example, the base collection of the Presidential Library “Russian People” contains ethnographic materials devoted to traditions, customs, life, and folklore of various peoples of Russia. These include digitized books, archive documents, photographs, maps, films. The photo exhibition on the activities of A. A. Gromyko can be added with an appeal to the materials from the section “State Power and Administration in the USSR” of the collection “History of State Power in Russia”. Also of interest is a selection of documents on the history of relations between Russia and China.
