The 2nd center of remote access to the resources of the Presidential Library opened in the Republic of Buryatia

September 25, 2019, in the Republic of Buryatia, in the Republican Children’s and Youth Library, was held the opening of the remote electronic reading room of the Presidential Library.

The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy of the People’s Khural of the Republic of Buryatia, deputy chairman of the Committee on interregional relations, national issues, youth policy, public and religious associations Sergei Dmitrievich Dorosh; Director of the Republican Children and Youth Library Ayuna Tsyrempilovna Dashanimaeva; specialists of municipal libraries of the Republic of Buryatia and public organizations; teachers, pupils and students.

In his welcoming address, Sergey Dorosh stressed the importance of free access to the information resources of the Presidential Library, which have scientific and educational value, as well as the ability to provide information-bibliographic and service services based on modern computer technologies.

A video about the Presidential Library, a presentation about the unique and thematic collections: “Politics and Power”, “The Russian Far East – World Economic Outpost”, “Tolerance: View of the Russian History and Culture”, were presented to the audience.

Republic of Buryatia: Pages of History collections is available on the Presidential Library’s portal. It includes statistical and cartographic materials, archival documents, studies and essays from the middle of the 19th to the middle of the 20th century, which spotlight various aspects of the history of the Republic of Buryatia: demographic, ethnographic, socio-political and socio-economic, as well as the current Constitution of the Republic of Buryatia.
