The intellectual role-playing game Chronicle held in the Volgograd Regional Center of the Presidential Library

4 October 2019

On September 29, 2019 the historical role-playing game Chronicle was held at the Volgograd Regional Center of the Presidential Library as part of the meeting of the Сompromise Discussion Club.

The theme of the game was modern international politics. The game participants were given the right to try themselves in the role of leaders of modern world powers responsible for the fate of the world, and experience firsthand how it feels to be the head of state and take responsibility for making important political decisions.

The game was filled with heated debate when solving tasks, since each participant in the game acted from the position of their own beliefs.

For a deeper immersion in the roles and nuances of international relations, the participants used the documents of the Presidential Library’s portal which spotlight Russia's relations with other states as supporting materials.

Thanks to the use of auxiliary materials, some participants were able to fill the knowledge gaps both in the history of their country as well as foreign countries.

Volgograd Region: Pages of History collection is available on the Presidential Library’s portal. It contains studies, essays, memoirs, archival documents, official statistical collections and reviews, as well as journals of district zemstvo collections devoted to the history, archeology, economics, demography, and military-administrative development of the territories of the XIII-XX centuries that are now part of Volgograd Region (the former Tsaritsyn and Kamyshin districts of the Saratov province).
