Another branch of the Russian Language Center opened In Ulan-Bator

The 23rd branch of the Russian Language Center was inaugurated as part of the celebration of Russian-Mongolian Friendship and Cooperation Days in Bayangol district secondary school № 40 in Ulan-Bator at the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Mongolia.

Advisor to the Russian Embassy in Mongolia, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representation in Mongolia Amgalan Bazarkhandaev, Head of the Education Department of the Bayangol District, Ms. Gerelgua, School Director Mr. Balgan attended the ceremony.

In a welcoming speech to the guests, Amgalan Bazarkhandaev thanked the school administration and teachers for the initiative and preparation for the opening of the branch, expressing approval for the promotion and strengthening of the position of the Russian language among Mongolian youth. In addition, he focused the students' attention on the prospects that knowledge of the Russian language opens for them and spoke about the possibility of obtaining education in one of the universities in Russia within the framework of quotas of the Government of the Russian Federation.

Mrs. Gerelgua, head of the education department of the Bayangol district, and Mr. Balgan, the school principal also joined in the greeting. They thanked the leadership of the RCSC for their support and comprehensive assistance in opening the branch, and congratulated the staff and students of the school with new opportunities. In addition, a tripartite donation agreement was signed during the ceremony, within the framework of which a set of teaching, educational, methodological and fiction literature, as well as various video and audio materials were handed over to the branch opened.

The parties agreed to cooperate in obtaining information and scientific and methodological services in the field of teaching the Russian language to citizens of Mongolia, in mastering educational programs in the Russian language, in providing graduates with the opportunity to participate in selection tests for the right to free education in one of the universities in Russia.

An important resource for studying Russian culture in Mongolia was access to the electronic collections of the Presidential Library: since 2015, its remote electronic reading room has been opened at the RCSC in Ulan-Bator. The library contains various materials on the history, theory and practice of Russian statehood. The special collection Russia - Mongolia: the History of Relations includes various studies, essays, archival and other materials which spotlight certain aspects of Mongolia’s life, the history of diplomatic, military and economic ties between Russia and Mongolia from the 13th to 21st centuries.
