Russia performed as a partner in an international book exhibition inaugurating in Ankara

Ankara is hosting an international book exhibition as part of the Cross Year of Culture and Tourism of Russia and Turkey.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Turkey, Alexey Yerkhov welcomed the participants and guests of the exhibition

He outlined that in recent years, relations between Russia and Turkey had been developing very dynamically. A special place is cultural and humanitarian cooperation, which reflects the interest of the Russian and Turkish peoples to each other, their spiritual proximity.

An extensive educational program is scheduled for guests of the exhibition. It includes a lecture and presentation of books by Russian writer Ilya Boyashov, the III International Festival of Poetry and Video Poetry “My Poet”, lectures on Russian and Turkish literature by Russian and Turkish writers, literary scholars and translators, an exhibition of collages “Legends of Russian Literature” conference “Marking the 90th anniversary of Evgeny Primakov: Russian-Turkish Relations - Shaping the Future”, presentation of the book by Evgeny. Primakov “Confidential: The Middle East on the stage and behind the curtains”, translated the second to the Turkish language.

There is a joint exhibition stand of the Embassy of Russia and the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Turkey at the site of the event, where various publications are offered for familiarization: novelties of educational and methodical literature on teaching Russian as a foreign language; materials telling about the activities of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo, as well as information on holding Russian language courses in Ankara by the Russian Center for Science and Culture.

In addition, it should be noted that since 2014, the Center of Remote Access to Information Resources of the Presidential Library has been running in Ankara at the RCSC since 2014. In order to increase knowledge of the Russian language, students can take part in the Olympiad of the Presidential Library Russia in the Electronic World. In 2019–2020 academic year, the Olympiad in the new disciplines “Russian as a Foreign Language” starts for foreign users of the library. For preparation, you can use the materials of the Russian Language electronic collection, which includes such publications: manuscripts and publications of monuments of Russian writing; archives; scientific works, including dissertations and theses; dictionaries and reference books; study guides of various types and levels.
