The Presidential Library has signed agreements with the Cimmeria of M. A. Voloshin Museum as well as the Rostov Kremlin Museum

In the course the VIII St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum, the Presidential Library entered into cooperation agreements with the Cimmeria of M. A. Voloshin Memorial Museum-Reserve (Republic of Crimea) and the Rostov Kremlin State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve (Rostov).

The documents were signed by Ilya Bykovnikov, Director General of the Presidential Library, Tamara Steblyuk, Director of the Cimmeria of M. A. Voloshin Memorial Museum-Reserve and Natalia Karovskaya, Director of the Rostov Kremlin State Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve.  

The agreement signed with the Cimmeria of M. A. Voloshin Memorial Museum-Reserve emphasizes that cooperation, in particular, will be carried out in the following areas: the formation of a single information and cultural space; the implementation of programs and projects aimed at the development, preservation and support of the original culture and museum business of Russia, the interaction of cultural and museum communities of St. Petersburg and Crimea; organization and holding of joint festivals, conferences and workshops, educational events, master classes, exhibitions; preparing and holding events that contribute to the strengthening and development of interest in reading among young people, popularizing the work of domestic and foreign writers.

The Cimmeria of M. A. Voloshin Memorial Museum-Reserve was founded in 2000. Its name reflects the name of an imaginary country in the east of the Crimean peninsula, associated with the most ancient inhabitants of Crimea, the Cimmerians (XV – VII centuries BC), which the famous writer and artist Maximilian Voloshin glorified in his works. The Museum-Reserve includes the A. A. Voloshin House-Museum, the A. S. Green's Memorial House-Museum, the K. G. Paustovsky’s House-Museum, the Marina and Anastasia Tsvetaev’s Museum and the Starokrymsky Literary and Art Museum. The main objectives of the reserve is to preserve the historical, literary and architectural values ​​and cultural environment, the revival of the spiritual and intellectual traditions of the cities: Koktebel, Old Crimea and Feodosia - the “Golden Cimmerian Triangle”.

The Presidential Library’s portal features the electronic collection The Crimea in Postcards, which includes rare postcards of the late XIX - first half of the XX century with images of cities and towns of the peninsula. The materials of the collection are arranged in geographical names in alphabetical order. Inside the sections, postcards are combined into thematic groups dedicated to the sights of a particular area.

The main objective of the joint work of the Presidential Library with the Rostov Kremlin Art Museum is to develop national and world culture, science and education, preserve and promote the historical and cultural heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation, strengthen public ideas, especially among young people, of the ideas of statehood, citizenship and patriotism.

The tasks of interaction between the parties are also identified. They are the identification, selection and electronic translation of print media and documents on the history, theory and practice of Russian statehood; the study of the traditional culture of the multinational population, national politics and interethnic relations of the peoples of the Russian Federation and neighboring countries; mutual use of information resources, including acquisition through the exchange of electronic copies of documents.

The cooperation supposes to implement joint projects, release publishing, audiovisual and multimedia products, as well as carry out scientific, cultural and educational activities: organize and hold joint conferences, exhibitions, workshops and other events.

The Rostov Kremlin Museum-Reserve is located in Rostov, Yaroslavl Region. It was founded on October 2 (November 10), 1883. The museum is located on the territory of the Rostov Kremlin - an architectural ensemble of the former Rostov bishop’s house, which was formed as a result of the construction activities of the Metropolitan of Rostov and Yaroslavl Ion III (Sysoevich) in the 1670-1680s.

According to Presidential Decree, the museum is included in the state code of especially valuable objects of cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia.

The Presidential Library’s portal features electronic collection Yaroslavl Region: Pages of History, which includes various materials: research, archival and statistical documents, essays introducing the administrative, socio-economic, socio-political and cultural development of Yaroslavl Region, since the 9th century. It also includes the first color photographs of S. M. Prokudin-Gorsky with views of Rostov taken at the beginning of the 20th century.
