Library specialists in the Kolyshleysky district of Penza Region learned about the Presidential Library
On November 15, 2019, specialists of the Penza Regional Center of Access to the resources of the Presidential Library and the Legal Information Center held a webinar "Digital Libraries and the Elimination of Information Inequality" for library workers in the Kolyshleysky district of Penza Region.
Those present were introduced to the Presidential Library’s portal; talked about the unique content of the national library, the principle of forming its collections, thematic collections; showed the possibilities of simple and advanced search.
The specialists of the regional center explained that for convenience, all materials were presented in four basic collections under the capacious names: “State Authority”, “Russian People”, “Territory of Russia” and “Russian Language”. As an example, the collection Memory of the Great Victory was demonstrated, which included numerous documents spotlighting the history of the victory of the Great Patriotic War.
The webinar participants also received detailed information about the Russia in the Electronic World Olympiad, which is held annually by the Presidential Library for History, Social Studies and the Russian Language.
In addition, those present learned that access to the collections of the Presidential Library is unlimited and is provided by remote electronic reading rooms, where everyone can get information about the technical conditions for organizing collective access to information resources of the Presidential Library.
The Presidential Library’s portal features Penza Region: Pages of History collection. It includes archival affairs, essays, studies and statistical materials which spotlight various aspects of the history of the region from the end of the 18th to the first third of the 20th century: demographic, geographical, socio-economic, socio-political and others, as well as the current Charter of Penza Region.
